Larry's First Blog

Good Morning Lorri and Larry and all the Mornings listeners and now viewers I've come to know!

This picture is a few years old, but it still looks like me; maybe I should say I still look like it!

I've been a fan of Lorri's long before Dr. Stanley wisely picked her up and joined her up with Larry. It's been a great merge and I listen, learn and get great encouragement from both of them as well as all the interesting guests, and the great callers!

Here's my office. I pick up mostly in Fair Oaks, Indiana, about the 220 off I-65 and deliver to Wisc, Chicago, KY, Tn, NC. Most of my trips allow me back home daily, although two-day trips are getting more common lately.

I just went over my first million mile mark.....accident free!
(probably should'nt even say that! But, not to worry, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, rides along with me, right?)

Here's my youngest son, Joey's Senior picture taken in 2003 when he was 18.

On an icy morning Christmas Eve Day, 2003 the lives of Joe and his family changed.
Tragedies of all sorts occur to almost all of us and we wonder why God allows such things. We have to remember He is sovereign! Everything he does has a purpose; it's all part of his master plan, so it's up to us to put our trust in Him and try to figure how and where he's guiding us to accomplish the purpose he has for each of us.

Mom, Debbie, stepped up to the plate! Whatever her plans might have been were set aside and she's become Joe's full-time advocate, caregiver, coach and whatever else he might need 24/7 for just over 4 1/2 years now.

Even though Joe lost his ability to speak, Mom learned and taught us all other ways to communicate. She knew he was cognitively still there. She's coaxing him to drink through a straw.

I stand in awe at her dedication and determination!

I'm blessed to spend every Friday with Joe. We have to constantly stretch and work all his muscles.
First I help him and then patiently wait and watch as he tries so hard to make his hands and fingers do what he wants....and does it!
He's there! We pray, we watch, and we wait.
